History

The children across the school learn either History or Geography weekly. Each year group will cover three History and three Geography topics per year linked to the National Curriculum.

The children will learn a range of skills and knowledge including how to read maps, different geographical features, observational skills, place names, chronological awareness, an understanding of how to use sources and an understanding of key historical events.

Across the year children take part in different history and geography themed activities; including Remembrance Day, Black history week, Pirate day, Kings and Queens Day.

The children also take part in many trips and visits linked to their History and Geography curriculum studies. Some examples include; The Tower of London, Imperial War Museum, Valance House and The British Museum.
