Welcome to Early Years

The Early Years Foundation Stage is the period of education from birth to 5 years. At St Peter’s, it begins in the Nursery class and ends in Reception.

The DFE introduced a new Early Years framework in 2021, which has a strong emphasis on learning through play, both child initiated and planned play. We deliver the curriculum through a combination of whole class activities, adult led focused activities and child-initiated activities.

We have a very dedicated team who are committed to providing a nurturing and positive learning environment, where each child is encouraged to feel happy and confident to develop to their full potential.

All staff are skilled in expertly guiding your child through the wonders of learning whilst playing. Our staff are dedicated to treating your child with warmth, care and respect, modelling and encouraging Christian values.

Nursery

Welcome to our St Peter’s Nursery.  We are a Government funded Nursery, with 26 places, offering both part-time and full-time spaces.  We offer 15 hours funding for all children and also 30 hours funding for those that are eligible.  If you are not eligible for the 30 hours funding, we also offer fee paying spaces for your child too!

Reception

Welcome to Reception at St Peter’s.  We are lucky enough to have two Reception classes in our school and a brand-new outdoor classroom for our children to use and explore. It has been created with our teacher's expertise to ensure that it instils excitement and enthusiasm into our children's learning experiences. Please see the links below for more information.
