Rainbows Bereavement Support
At St Peter's we provide a bereavement support programme called Rainbows. This is a well respected national charity having a proven, positive impact on the lives of children, young people and adults grieving a significant and often devestating loss in their lives.
Brentwood Catholic Childrens Society
At BCCS we believe that every child should be loved and supported. However, some children experience great hardship and suffering – from bereavement and bullying, to anxiety and abuse. BCCS provides counselling for children and young adults whose wellbeing, and mental and emotional health could be at risk.
ELSA
An Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) is a trained, school based learning support assistant. Their role is to support the emotional wellbeing of pupils. They are trained by a team of Educational Psychologists and receive ongoing group supervision.
ELSAs work with children and young people either individually or in small groups and deliver bespoke interventions tailored to the presenting situation or need. The role of the ELSA is to develop children and young people's:
- emotional literacy
- positive mental health,
- social skills
- emotional wellbeing.
